HYDRODYNAMICS AND MODELLING

Our hydrodynamics and modelling team have expertise in diverse research topics in marine physics. We are involved in areas including coastal erosion and flooding, sediment transport, circulation, offshore renewable energy and biophysical modelling. Previous studies have:

  • examined the causes of beach change, such as erosion processes;
  • assessed the impacts of renewable energy devices on the marine environment;
  • determined the fate of pollutants or organisms entering the marine environment;
  • isolated the impacts of dredging on offshore sandbanks from the natural variability;
  • modelled the flood risk associated with the changing coastline.

To help you, we can:

We are not limited to these research areas so please get in contact with us if you’d like to know more about our capabilities.

SEACAMS held a FREE workshop covering the topic in Bangor in December 2012. Click here for more information.
